OFFICE OF CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT
Greek Life

Fraternities and sororities are social organizations, and as such provide an active social life to balance the academic atmosphere at Rutgers-Camden. The Greek system on campus and nationwide is undergoing changes to meet the challenge of balancing social activities and academic success. Greek organizations provide members with important and unique leadership positions not to be found in most other student organizations.

Eligibility
All Greek organizations at Rutgers-Camden are commuter in nature. Rush/pledging is the formal process that Greek organizations use to meet and recruit prospective members. Rutgers-Camden has two "rush" periods - one in late September or early October and one in late February. In order to pledge, a student must have completed 12 credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.0 - first semester freshmen are not eligible to join a fraternity or sorority until the Spring semester.
